The 1997 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet is composed of 97% Cabernet and 3% Cabernet Franc, and aged in 100% new French oak for 22-24 months. It is a sensational effort. It has a superb nose of smoked herbs, melted licorice, and black currant jam. Full-bodied, with a sliky texture, and an opulent personality.
