Very dry, and young in its fresh tannins and acids framing ripe, grapy currant flavors, mocha, vanilla and sweet dill. Very fine and balanced, with a powerful finish. Beautiful now, but should develop through the decade.
Rated 91 - Wine Enthusiast
The 2001 Napanook exhibits a chocolatey, black cherry, and currant-scented nose with hints of dried herbs, cocoa, cedar, and spice in the background. Incredibly Bordeaux-like, it possesses soft, sweet tannin, medium body, and undeniable elegance. Enjoy it now and over the next 7-8 years. RATED "88" Robert Parker
